The It‑Girl Edit: Spring 2026

The It‑Girl Edit: Spring 2026

If one more person says “florals are trending for spring,” I may lose it. Florals aren’t trending—they’re inevitable. Flowers bloom in spring, so yes, designers use florals. Groundbreaking. Revolutionary. Truly rocket science.

Let’s move past the painfully obvious, because I know we’re all hotter than that. And if you think this is going to be a blog where we recycle the same tired fashion week talking points (looking at you, pastels), you’re definitely in the wrong place.

Instead, let’s talk about the non-basic spring trends actually taking over the runway and my closet for Spring 2026.

Now that we got that over with.... Welcome to the first installation of Sof Sees It First!

Today, I’m diving into the less‑basic trends from the Spring 2026 RTW runways—and yes, these are trends you can actually find in stores right now.

Fringe, in virtually every shape and form, has been dominating runways across countless designer collections. We’re seeing it everywhere—from fringe bags and statement shoes to dresses dripping in movement. This isn’t your typical, western-inspired fringe moment, though. Instead, designers are using fringe as a way to add drama, texture, and motion to a look. Whether styled as a bold statement piece or layered subtly to elevate a simple outfit, fringe brings instant dimension and energy to any ensemble.

I think we’ve all worn a silk scarf in the traditional ways—draped around the neck, over the shoulders, or thrown on as that last-minute accessory when you’re not sure what else the outfit needs. But lately, scarves are being reimagined in the most creative ways. People are styling them as tops, using them as belts for dramatic draping, or tying them around jeans to add texture and dimension to a simple denim-and–white-tee look. There’s something undeniably elegant about this trend, and I love it. Scarves are finally having the statement moment they deserve.

Very Cruella de Vil—if I may say so myself. I like to think of polka dots as the refined, classic counterpart to Dalmatian print. Polka dots are also one of those “basic” trends that never actually go out of style—but I couldn’t help including them in this blog since nearly every designer incorporated polka dots into their collections this season. It was honestly wild to see just how many spring runways featured them. I’ve always found polka dots to be effortlessly chic, with an undeniable cool‑girl appeal that feels both timeless and fresh. It’s also an easy look to pull off and an accessible trend for everyone.

DRAMAAAAA! This is a statement piece moment if there ever was one. Funnel‑neck jackets, tops, and dresses are trending hard right now, and chances are you’ve already spotted them on your favorite influencers and celebs, especially in leather. While not every trend is for everyone, this one is surprisingly versatile. Leather isn’t quite my speed, but a silky funnel‑neck dress or a sleek trench? That’s right up my alley. I’ll always say yes to a high neck—probably why fall and winter are my favorite seasons (sue me).

This trend leaves very little to the imagination! As the temperatures rise, so do the hemlines. Enter the elevated “sleepwear‑as‑daywear” moment: silky camisoles, delicate lace details, and fluid fabrics styled with intention. There’s something quietly confident about a piece that feels effortless yet refined. A simple lace‑trim cami pairs just as well with sneakers for day as it does with a heel at night, striking that perfect balance between comfort and polish. Easy, elegant, and undeniably chic—spring dressing at its best. Plus, one less outfit you have to change into after date night 😉
